Grade 1 and 2 English Class

Welcome back to another school year!  My name is Caroline Desormiers and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2020-2021 school year.  I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer.  I am ready and excited about the next ten months, and the learning and growing that awaits us.  In order for us to get the year started, there are a few things your child will need to bring to school A.S.A.P., preferably by Monday September 14th.
2 glue sticks
2 erasers
10 pencils
5 duotangs - 1 in each of the following colours: blue, red, green, yellow, orange
Coloured pencils / markers (whatever your child prefers)
Lunch bag (plastic grocery bags are discouraged)
School bag (preferably a backpack)
1 box of facial tissue
Pencil case
A pair of scissors
A change of clothes in case of emergencies put in a Ziploc bag
Indoor shoes (that can be also used for physical education class) Only send laced shoes if your child can tie his/her own shoes
A set of headphones for when using technology
A refillable water bottle (fountains will not be allowed to be used for drinking, only to fill water bottles) I suggest having a couple bottles available because I will be sending their water bottle home daily to be thoroughly cleaned.
A colouring or activity book for when they are done their work since classroom toys (games, blocks, figurines, etc.) will most likely be unavailable for now

Please put your child’s name on ALL his/her belongings, including school supplies, hats, mitts, jackets, footwear.  It makes it easier to locate lost items.  Thank you and Happy School Year!

Caroline Desormiers
