Welcome to Holy Cross School!

Dear Parents and Families of Holy Cross Catholic School,

It is my sincere hope that all our families have enjoyed summer. I look forward to welcoming our students, families, staff members and community partners to a new school year. Our school will continue to provide information through multiple sources, including our school's Facebook page, Edsby, and our NPSC website.

It is my pleasure as the principal of Holy Cross to welcome you all back to school. The staff and I look forward to working closely with our students and parents to continue to build our community together.

The name of our school, Holy Cross, is a beautiful and meaningful name. Our school logo includes three very powerful symbols of our faith in Jesus. The Cross represents the sacrificial death of Jesus, the dual meaning of both suffering and triumph over death, the forgiveness of sins, and our resurrection to eternal life. The Dove represents the spirit descending from heaven upon Jesus when he was baptized as well as the spirit of Jesus who lives within us always. The Dove reminds us of the gentle yet powerful workings of the Holy Spirit, the purity and peace of Jesus’ actions. The Heart represents the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus for us through His suffering and death upon the Cross, the promise of eternal life, and the undying, unconditional love that He has for us.

Holy Cross Catholic School is a dual track school, offering an Early French Immersion program and an English Language program, JK to Grade 8, located in the east end area of North Bay. Our school has a rich history and heritage, and proud of our partnership with home and our Parish. Our school community believes that a Catholic School is one in which the teachings of Jesus Christ permeates all aspects of the school day. It is our intention to provide, in partnership with you, the parents and guardians, a stimulating and fun learning environment which will foster the intellectual, spiritual, physical, social and emotional growth of each of the students at Holy Cross. During our school year, we will be focusing on our Catholic virtues to guide us as a faith-filled community and following the lessons of our teacher, Jesus.

I invite you to contact me at the school should you have any questions or simply to meet each other. I look forward to our school year together and the many activities that we will experience as a community.

Thank you in advance for your support and cooperation in providing a positive learning experience for your child. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Sincerely,
Dan Seguin

Principal
